The album...
EXTRA EPIC EVERYTHING, released by Wounded Bird in 2010, is the first ever official release of the second Great Buildings album. If you're one of the few who has heard these tracks before, you haven't heard them quite like this. The two opening rockers, Way To Go & In Dreams are instantly catchy, while Looking For What's Lasting & Final Showing feature the GBs' "signature" melodramatic rock. Your Eyes is another standout track, and the cover of Neil Diamond's Cherry, Cherry is a classic. An added bonus is the track Up The Walls of the World, originally recorded for Apart From The Crowd, but never released. The liner note commentary by Ian Grey is simply fantastic! After nearly 30 years in the vault, EXTRA EPIC EVERYTHING was relased on CD by Wounded Bird Records. These demos were recorded in early 1982 as the possible follow up to APART FROM THE CROWD. By late 1981, the band had added keyboard player Mickey Mariano (Falcons/ 3 O'Clock) at live gigs. They also hired guitar tech & sound guy Mic Tienken, who would go on to be a writing partner with Phil Solem/ The Rembrandts for years.  While the band continued to write and record great songs, Great Buildings was near the end.
